Human albumin treatment in
adult septic shock

Aim of the study

- To assess if albumin treatment increase B cell gene expression, as estimated by the immunoglobulin complex gene set (ICGS) score, in non-cirrhotic patients with septic shock

- To investigate potential mechanisms of this effect

- To assess the effect of albumin on systemic inflammation and endothelial and glycocalyx function

- To assess the effect of albumin in clinical course, organ function, organ support requirements, secondary infections, and 28-day and 90-day mortality

Type of study

Human albumin treatment in adult septic shock. A phase 2, multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled study evaluating the immune response and organ failure.
